A Scar; Anthony.
The hole darkens in my heart,
A loss is too heavy to hold,
Memories of losses I cannot forget,
It is a permanent stain in my mind,
Reason and morals are overrun by war,
Pure souls are damaged,
Images never leaving,
Replaying and replaying,
A deep scar.

No punishment can be too great for the Germans. They started the war and they have ruined the lives of millions of people.
However, the Treaty of Versailles was not fair.
Unlike the treaties that were signed after WWI,
the Treaty of Versailles had extreme harsh treaty terms such as- Army and navy restricted, land taken away, Rhineland demilitarised, admitting war guilt, forbidden to unite with Austria and lastly, reparations. The Versailles Peace Conference was held without Germany and Russia's presence, which was one of the unfair points.

History is a significant subject and lesson in our entire life.
With History, one learns to understand the past and will actually modify one's attitude for life.
Without History, riots and strikes may still occur- No one will ever identify the consequences of communal fights, racism and even oppression. As a student of History, we must change the ways we handle things and of course, we do not follow the people who lived through our history, as they knew little of their wrongdoings.
We should bring up the fighting spirit of our heroic warriors, and respect them for their loyalty. By studying History, we are indirectly preventing the influence of others with wrong infomation about the past.
To appreciate Singapore's history, we must truly understand the events that happened before the 21st century, and not forgetting the present. This applies to the study of other countries.
To touch the past and to appreciate it- This is History.

On 15th feb every year, all schools commemorate Total Defence Day.

(a) Total Defence Day is a defence strategy that involves every Singaporean to multiply the country's defence capability. It provides the framework for a comprehensive and integrated response to deal with all kinds of threats and challenges. Whether it is a security threat such as global terrorism, or a national crisis like bioterrorism,
To help Singaporeans understand how they can be involved, Total Defence is divided into five facets - Military Defence, Civil Defence, Economic Defence, Social Defence and Psychological Defence.
Volunteers in civil defence exercises help to improve the economy, built strong ties with different religions and cultural groups. When we stay commited to defend our country, we are doing our part to strengthen Singapore's resilience as a nation.
For 2007, Queensway Secondary School has organized a fire drill activity which involved the whole school, including the staff. The activity has certainly made us realise the importance of precautions, which enables us to feel the emergency, co-operating with one another to complete this exercise.
